A candidate had a device unrelated to the job which might be for piracy and you turned him down for that? What sort of self-absorbed narciccist are you?

The browser could be seen as a special case, as it's the most public API around. So classes are in many cases simply for namespacing and modularisation. Interestingly, the HTML spec for DOMParser has a note about exactly your comment:

I'm not entirely sure this can be called a framework. If there was a Bootstrap v0.1 it would be this, before it decided to do a whole bunch of extra things to become a framework. A few years ago you might have simply named it "res

chmod/chown has been the de facto (if not de jure) method securing LAMP stacks for as long as I have been alive. Not that I recommend taking the advice of a LAMP stack too seriously :)

You can actually do that with React. Nothing is stopping you. It's not the recommended way because as soon as you want validation or dynamic fields you need state anyway. And there're easy libraries like Formik that handle all the

But setting the wrong state is someting that happens far less and is much more traceable, because the encapsulation of state changes into a single place massively reduces the side effects (and global state) that were the cause of 90% of tho

Gatsby (static-site generator powered by React) was a massive timesaver for me. Sure, you spend a bit longer setting up some basic components, but the trivial ability to share those components between pages more than makes up for it...

That seems extraordinarily naive. The NSA would not give up access like that unless forced at gunpoint, and the US gov has clearly demonstrated it doesn't care (and actually quite likes) this sort of gross privacy invasion. The only (i

I work at a place now that uses USS Starship names for projects. Really brings home the old adage about the hardest parts of computer science being naming things when the decision comes down to a discussion of the philosophical implications

There are plenty of unmaintained sites out there that do stupid things in reaction to UA strings, and one of the stupid things is using a regex that expects specific strings to exist. Using a completely new string format in the same field (

For me a 5-10m jog at medium pace is a good way to warm up. Don't get tired, barely get out of breath, just stretch your muscles and get your body ready for the rest of the session. If you prefer to stretch then do that instead :)
