No doubt there are businesses that can make it work. But any constraints affect supply, pricing some business models out. When your whole business is set up to optimally create and ship plastic garden chairs, you’re probably in trouble.

Perception from SA is that Australians are fairly strict rule followers. Personally I’d like more of that, but some friends didn’t like it at all. Doggy bags discouraged: https://www.foodsafety.com.au/blog/are-restauran

Checkout Ambri. Lots of videos on YouTube. I’d love to invest. https://ambri.com/technology/ Anyone got any cons?

I’ve found Waze to do the opposite, which suits me. It’ll often show me new routes when the obvious ones are slow. It seemed to be more aggressive than Google Maps. I thought that was interesting since they’re both Google. Different engine?

You normally have to have a lot of data to get a machine to deal with a situation. There’s a lot more data for flying than making leadership-level decisions. There are likely a lot more unique and fuzzy situations in leadership as well. I’d

I think if a parking area has many vehicles in one place it might be easier to move the charging infrastructure around them. I’d assume that can be done easier than moving refuelling infrastructure. So maybe 100 vehicles could have 10 charg

And assembly, which I understood not at all when I was ten. So much effort and joy. I had a book with Eliza for Amstrad in it. Great fun.

Put me in that camp too! I know a small text box won’t get across what changed for you but I’d love to know what I’m probably missing. What’s the text box version? For me, it feels like we limit the search because we’ve found a pretty good

No sql injection, can set permissions for each proc, isolates app from DB implementation so you don’t have to redeploy app. Eg you can migrate older data to an archive table and query it on certain circumstances. App doesn’t need to know.

> If I'm a sophisticated investor, I may want to invest in funds which hedge against tail-risk Do tail-risk-targeting hedge funds have a better incentive than 2-and-20? Honest question, I have no idea. I assume 2-and-20 drives shoot

Our emergent behaviour comes from emergent behaviour of particles, because we are them. It’s just harder to predict a few levels of emergence up.

Point around incentives: We use Dynatrace. I’m sure it’s an eye-watering price but I do like that everyone who wants a license can get one. I don’t have to consider costs to add an entire dev team and teach them how to use it. It also mean

I use a keyboard called “programmer Dvorak” that makes those characters first-class citizens. You need shift for numbers. I can do the numbers fine but it took a while. Not sure I’d recommend it though, need to learn normal Dvorak for use o

My point is that they are obviously intending to go after both business and payments. If there is a gap it’s not because they don’t want to go there. If you’re judging them on what you can use now then you’re discounting a massive intent fo

It’s not just the numbers, it’s who they are. Having a good portion of the tech/media scene move to Signal, even if it’s just conversations and intent, shifts the needle. Impact is more influential than most other segments. I do worry

It seems like car sharing should sort this out. Uber, car share schemes, self-driving cars...the trend seems towards less ownership and more short term use. Having a car sit around for 22 hours a day is a massive waste. These schemes suit c

Change happens on the margin. If success is defined by everyone moving on the same day, we’d still be using ICQ. This issue is an opportunity to make some people aware and maybe move a few networks to better solutions. So make a few changes
