Plenty of drugs do things that sound scarier to me--a layperson. SSRIs change the way you think and feel. Pain killers hijack your nervous system so you don't feel pain.

JD is considered to be the "terminal" degree for law. While its technically the "standard and lowest law degree" its also the highest. Professors at law schools mostly have JDs (some also have PhDs, but most don't)

Most state's attorney ethics boards to allow you to call yourself a Doctor. But in practice, you look like a fool doing so.

Even if they don't discriminate, what would ensure its not just used as a political tool even if an increase is overall harmful? Seems like voters have a lot of incentive to vote themselves increases.

Demographics impact this data, no? People in college, increased ability to retire, and an increase in the number of retire people (due to an aging population) all have an effect. What does the data look like from 1900-1948? I imagine WWII

Don't plenty of countries in the EU have higher poverty rates than the USA? Isn't Australia's essentially the same as the USAs? Is there really a huge difference or are you just subject to a lot of confirmation bias. Canada

There is no concussion among economists that "link between the minimum wage and unemployment isn't really a thing." A lot of research suggests the effect is pretty small when the increase in minimum wage is small compared to

The argument that an election is illegitimate because a tiny fraction of facebook ads were funded by Russia instead of wealthy US donors is just as absurd as claims that these elections were illiterate because voter ID rules were suspended

Clinton was saying the 2016 election wasn't legitimate as recently as October 2020 AND she suggested Biden should never concede no matter what (which suggested that 2020 would be illegitimate). And saying well election fraud and voter

I'll give an opposite impression. I thought the first season was sort of a paint by numbers Mad Men rip off focused on tech rather than adverting. S2 gets its own story that is very enjoyable.
