I know more than a handful of people who complain about Hollywood originality, but only go to the theater for Marvel or Star Wars movies. Or who only go to see a movie that has 80% on Rotten Tomatoes (unless its a franchise movie). The real

I struggle to understand this thinking. If (and I don’t know) this was a leak of a gain-of-function modified virus, it’s a scientific experiment that killed 10 million people. We need to know so we don’t do it again. I’m not concerned about

Right, I paid off a balance of 260k dollars in student loans. Former classmates, who make exactly the same amount of money, who instead used their salaries to buy a house get a windfall? How is that good policy? Our current system already a

You could. But you can only tax them so much. And the truly rich are able to avoid taxes by moving capital around. There are a lot of progressive spending proposals and they all can't be paid by just taxing the wealthy. Using that mone

The cost of fiber from town to town is a small part of the cost. And it’s already done for the most part. That isn’t what is holding up fiber deployments to residential houses.

Canada and Australia have the same issues as the us. It’s mostly a geography issue. I’ve also never seen convincing evidence that US is really worse on average than other large countries— Germany, France, Italy, Spain. All the speed test ra

I probably wouldn’t change stores. But these drinks are impulse buys. I’d be a lot less likely to impulse buy one if I can’t actually see the product.

IMO, framing things as "truth" or "falsehood" is part of the problem. Each side dismisses the other side as just not knowing the right facts (or denying the facts), as if everyone would agree if they just knew the right

>You can assume in the vast majority of cases patent trolls don't have valid patents. Right, but law actually presumes they are valid. Which is why its tough to go after a troll for asserting a valid patent.

You can be sued for Office functionality. And you’d probably be the direct infringer. It’s just an inefficient way to sue people and Microsoft would likely step in. But it’s common to get sued for using functionality in open source software

I wouldn’t respond to people cold emailing either. However, the difference between this and the warranty scam is that the complaint they are attaching is 100% real. It’s more like a mechanic emailing you saying, hey I notice your car was br

The chances are really low that it was covid. A lot of colds go around and many last a long time. Millions of Americans had a cold in December 2019. A handful likely had COVID-19. You are probably in the former camp.
