Firefox 57 will be just another Chrome clone with a different rendering engine. Yeah, totally curious why Firefox loses market share...

I'm not sure if a stronger focus on git/GitHub is a step into the right direction for Atom users. I'd strongly recommend to provide a choice. Why not other VCSs, why not other platforms? We get it, Atom is GitHub's pet t

Today there is WordPerfect for writer's needs, including great keyboard controls. Sadly, it lost some reputation over the past few years.

Yes, the Floodgap guy has its own Android client available on his website. Sadly, it follows the design conventions from Android 1.5 or so. http://gopher.floodgap.com/overbite/

Which is not enough reason to prefer an implementation which dropped Xanadu's probably most important feature (two-side links) from the beginning.

Some of the more recent IRC clients already support most its new features, including v3.1.

The web is a broken and incomplete adaption of Xanadu.

The new(ish) IRCv3 standard does not break compatibility with existing clients though. If they don't support all of its features, they just have less things displayed.

Gopher comes without the multimedia annoyances of the over-engineered Web and it "lacks" people whose business model is to be on it. I like to browse Gopher every now and then. Several people I know even export read-only versions

As far as I understand, Github is mainly American, meaning that US export restrictions apply, right? I'm not sure how that fits the "freedom" point.

It makes me sad to see that people actively contribute to the implicit "open source = Github" assumption. Open Source has always been successful because there was more than just a single distributor for almost anything. I hope I&#

As iocage pretty much only wraps FreeBSD system tasks, I can't see why a language different than "shell scripting" would be an improvement here - does it use API calls instead?
