No worries at all. I'm working on improving the messaging when a URL starts triggering abuse prevention measures to hopefully avoid confusing people so much.

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings with my hobby. I'd be happy to provide a full refund if you'll come out from behind that cowardly anonymous throwaway account.

I run rawgit.com. Actually, I've tried both approaches. Redirecting does nothing to reduce excessive traffic, because nobody notices they're doing anything wrong. The traffic just keeps coming, and I keep having to redirect it, wh

Secret gists are supported. If you've got a raw secret gist URL that's not working, let me know. Probably best to tweet @yaypie or @rawgit; I don't look at HN often.

I launched rawgithub.com before GitHub announced their official policy discouraging projects from using "github" in their name. I really, really liked the simplicity of just deleting the dot in "raw.github.com" to get a rawgithub.com URL. I

This is exactly right. Anyone who's using rawgithub.com in a situation where harm could be done by running arbitrary third-party JS is probably misusing rawgithub.com.

Sorry about that. I haven't even looked at the site on Windows. Soon as I have time I'll see if I can find a font that Chrome won't mangle on Windows.

Actually, it was an alert() box plus evil.js, which overwrites lots of native JS functionality to intentionally cause weird bugs. The idea is to make it impossible to ignore so abusers will stop their hotlinking. I'm not really interested i

If the Paranoids or PR found out you're commenting publicly about this and portraying yourself as an official representative, they'd have your ass. Be careful.

Howdy. I'm the guy on the YUI team who ported Handlebars to YUI, and I can't stress enough that this is not something new that we created. As the linked page clearly states right up at the top, Handlebars is an existing project (see http

No, Yahoo! does not have anything similar to Google+. Even if Yahoo! did have a similar product, it would be silly for me to restrict my community outreach efforts to that product, ignoring YUI users on Twitter, Google+, and elsewhere. Plea

We currently use Google+ Hangouts (via our personal profiles) for team meetings, since several members of the team (including me) are remote. It works great (much better than iChat or Skype, which we've previously used). It'd be super aweso

Hi. That was me. What's odd about a Yahoo! employee using Google+? The point of my "rant" was specifically that it doesn't make any sense to launch a feature like Google+ Pages -- a feature targeted at organizations and groups -- without th

Of the components you named, MenuNav and TabView both have keyboard support. Did you try using the arrow keys? I agree that the keyboard support for Slider and Calendar could be improved. You didn't mention AutoComplete, which also has exce

No. I wrote about my personal feelings on third-party SSL CDNs here: http://wonko.com/post/javascript-ssl-cdn (these are my opinions and not representative of any official YUI or Yahoo! stance on the matter).

The actual reason is that this blog post was posted before the site went live, and was not the post-launch announcement (which did have a link). I've updated it with a link.

We wanted to emphasize the CDN over downloads, but we clearly hid the download links too well. I've added a "Downloads" link to the "Quick Start" dropdown menu in the top nav bar, and we'll give some thought to adding a more prominent link

Great feedback, everyone. I've pushed a few quick changes to address the low-hanging fruit: - We're now using Maven Pro for headings (no more Trebuchet). - Replaced Lucida Grande with Helvetica in the nav bar (sorry Windows users, you get A

It's very intentionally based on Backbone's example, to demonstrate the similarities and differences between Backbone and the YUI App Framework. It's kind of a tradition now among MVC frameworks.

What parts of it strike you as sloppy? How would you improve the design? We'd love to hear specific feedback. We're admittedly programmers and not designers. Our main focus for the redesign was to improve usability, remove clutter, and decr

I'm referring to the scene in which Doc draws a diagram on a blackboard to explain to Marty why the two of them still exist even though they've screwed up history and created an alternate 1985. Essentially, they exist because they're in a t

Your sarcasm is misplaced. The new website consolidates all the YUI 3 user guides, examples, and API docs -- as well as YUI Theater and various other content that used to be spread around developer.yahoo.com -- under the yuilibrary.com webs

It's been my experience that when syncing a directory to Dropbox that contains symlinks to other directories, bad things happen, since Dropbox follows the links instead of copying them. On another machine, I would delete what I thought was
