Interesting! I’m very much the opposite. I never liked autocomplete or suggestions in text boxes (to a certain extent, e.g. I have common things like name and address saved in my password manager to suggest autofill for online shopping or w

I have a fairly skeptical view on the current AI hype cycle and the people pushing it as a panacea, and it has been somewhat personally frustrating to see AI being shoved into every product. To me it seems Yann is one of the few leaders in

A few years back Moxie (of Signal) put up a video[0] of a quiet leaf blower which was pretty sweet. His design appears to be quieter than this one. Either way this is great, as a person highly sensitive of sound I support all technologies t

I’ve written a fair amount of production code in a bunch of different languages and despite years of experience I still usually reference a syntax cheat sheet or something for most languages (python being an exception at this point). Like o

It’s similar. I liked Hetzner for their affordable bare-metal offerings, but found their interfaces to be fairly clunky. Linode and Vultr (and Digital Ocean) have a nicer web based interface. I think you can find benchmarks online comparing

Sure, but that's an orthogonal point to the one OP made isn't it? Contributing to open source projects is incompatible with not wanting someone else to use your work based on ideological differences. Perhaps contributors don

But the software licensing explicitly allows your work being used by anyone (as long as they adhere to the license). If you don't want your work to be used by entities you disagree with you can not contribute to the project or advocate

You can build containers with nix, but they’re completely different. One is an operating system built around a package manager and the other is a containerization tool. More appropriate comparisons would be: - NixOS and Ubuntu - nix and apt
