I'm sorry you're having a bad time, but you sound like you're caught up in a few delusions. When someone gets coffee with a stranger they are "going out of their way to help". What more are you asking for in these c

To reinforce this point, here's a 2BD in the up-and-coming (e.g. highest crime-rate) Mission neighborhood priced at $1030/sf: https://www.openlistings.co/p/2558MISSIONST94110-2 Anecdotally, I know a gainfully

One positive data point here. We got invited for an interview [1]! It's at least the 4th time I've applied, 2nd time with this company, and the 1st time I've been invited for an interview. Good luck to everyone, and as I alwa

That's almost certainly what this means. Proprietary datasets are VERY hot in real estate right now because otherwise, everyone is working with the same listings data.

I recommend this project for image caching: https://github.com/rs/SDWebImage It creates a cache keyed on the URL and deals with processing the image off of the main thread.

Very cool! This bears quite a resemblance to the way React.js constructs a virtual DOM so that it can optimize drawing. Do you guys have a way you're benchmarking performance improvements? Are you just looking at time spent on the main

You're making a mistake Sam talked about in his lecture: measuring a company by the number of employees. Software scales in a way that other businesses do not. Instagram got millions of downloads and a $1B acquisition with 13 employees

I have doubts that the real estate industry is to blame for urban and suburban sprawl. As someone who works in real estate tech, I'd appreciate if you could unpack that. However, I do think you're hitting on a real constraint. As
