It's more that there is a market price for SOC2 that auditors can charge, and they are adding $20-25K to the price tag, so they need the auditors to subsidize that. At least when I talked to these firms, you could not bring your own au

ok will do - I will also post an actual (sanitized) Type 2 IRL so we can dispel the mystery and the need for experts. It's all straightforward stuff. But give me 24 hours since my family is giving me cross looks at spending more time

$50K is too high, unless you had a lot of actual process gaps to fill initially and are counting staff time in that. Also expertise isn't really that important - honestly the auditors are often (not always) minimally trained and often

The policy docs are just filler. Auditors never look at them in any detail. They look for last revised date and last review date. Have bought $150 bundle online and submitted as-is without even replacing a single parameter and audit went f

Definitely paying too much @ $40K/$30K. Audit firms will cut their costs - don't take their first offer, it's a negotiation. Renegotiated down every year...they will want to reduce churn. Also, there are open source version

I agree here. Second freezer and lots of space for storage is a must. Not for tiny apartments. A suburban phenomenon mostly.

from what I see, and do, people just go there early AM 5 min before it opens. Avoids the folks who flock around the free handouts at lunchtime. Parking is easy. But you can’t wait even 1/2 hour past opening. Get in right as it opens.

Ditto for fish in Hawaii. We tried both a local “fresh off the boat” market and Costco on the same trip and Costco was definitely higher quality for local caught fish. Same for salmon and halibut in Anchorage, Alaska.

I dunno about majority internal vs shoplifting but I saw a Kroger internal report once that ~2% revenues lost annually to “loss”. It was not broken down by category, but it was the preface to a 4 hour presentation on employee loss preventi

Get a second/dedicated freezer. Juice the limes; mince the onions in a cuisinart. Freeze in 1-4 cup restaurant style containers you can get at any restaurant supply store. We also bbq 3 racks of ribs, 4 whole chickens, 2 3-pack chicken

I don't think it matters what anyone thinks. The reality will hit the poor hardest. Those of us who ignore the root causes, continue the same behaviors and expect different results, and look for some magical solution are culpable. I s

IMO, looking for a high tech solution to a low tech problem is a dead end (possibly in the literal sense!) This is a human behavior problem. Consume less; ie growth at all costs is not a long term strategy for the planet. Don't define

The initial reaction is to TL;DR as weak passwords and no MFA but I am equally/more concerned that the policy granted to vendors allows them to access more data than they really need, or the data they must have access could be better d

I suspect this is a botthat posts scraped papers from arxiv based on submission history, and no original comments, though happy to be proven wrong and retract if the submitter responds.

For me, I had to turn this on its head. Define the habits and healthy routine you want and build the lifestyle around it. I was on a crash course for 15 years as a tech exec. 90+ hours work per week, travel, etc. not by compulsion or finan

And some speculation. I see first hand a lot of high end apartments bought that sit vacant. Maybe the owners live in Asia or EU 9 months of the year, I dunno. But in some of the swanky towers downtown there are entire floors with at most on

Not necessarily- but it takes financial savvy and raising capital and a lot of hard work...sorta like building a tech startup. In fact, I had this conversation this week randomly with 2 different groups of former tech execs...they are leavi
