This is why I think Apple's direction of building a neural engine into the M1 architecture is low-key brilliant. It's just there and part of their API; as AI capabilities increase and the developer landscape solidifies, they can

This is not an operating system, this is a UI, and as far as I can tell, a non-functioning demo at that. That's fine, great actually, but let's at least use the correct words. Purely aesthetically, this is great. It's incredi

Could not agree more. I'm re-reading Dune and in this age of emerging AI its focus on developing human potential in light of increased technological capability is striking me as ridiculously prescient. Offloading some parts of the huma

I think the entire concept of "non-techies" is condescending to the people you're referring to. Computers exist, the cat is out of the bag -- computer literacy is now simply a facet of literacy in general. I would much prefer

Yup, absolutely. Have worked in Hollywood and can corroborate largely the same. adam_arthur is living in a just-world Liberian dream world where markets are free and fair. They never are.

I know this will never happen, but I wish that they would go even a step further than that: I wish they would admit that, for better or worse, Linux is the desktop to corral around. A proprietary OS for BYO hardware is very simply a Bad Ide

Depends on what I'm protecting from. The problem, though, is that loud-enough-to-cause-a-setback noises happen all the time. You of course won't notice if they don't cause you pain, but people yell, drop things, trucks clang

As the other person who replied to you noted, a converted-from-yaml file wherein the service is designed to use yaml, not toml, it hardly a good example of toml. Of course your example is bad. At least use a native toml file as an example

Absolutely spot on. A very good friend of mine went through a bootcamp and very much views himself as essentially “blue collar” —- do the job, go home. It’s for money, not passion, not at all. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, but wit

The benefit of Nix is that you declaratively configure everything in a single file. And there's no reason you couldn't wrap a GUI around that. In fact I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already.
