Those are mostly interested in biomimetic movement rather than intelligence. They do have some applications, but i don't think they ve convinced the world that mimicking organisms is necessarily optimal.

I see nothing in these "neuromorphic" architectures than hogwash trying to bullshit governments into giving them money. There's no conceptual advancement offered by these computers that can't be simulated with matlab. Un

I don't think that holds, the same happens with Erasmus students in europe (~40% don't make local friends). https://thepienews.com/news/erasmus-students-local-friends-e... And they mostly DO know english an

Loosely defined, it's various chips that implement simplified computational models of neurons, and some plasticity functions. They are usually simplified because going into the greatest detail (modeling hodgkin-huxley type channels) w

Do 'Neuromorphic' chips do anything useful? At least neural networks have well known utility, but afaik, neuromorphic (i.e. heavily simplified models of neurons that one only hopes - but cannot prove are correct) have no useful ap

Why does the article not mention the russia-hysteria as another prime example of baseless repetitive untruth of the current news cycle? It's also surprisingly light on its facts and logic: in the american left-right debate is there re

I 'm not even sure why it provokes such reaction. Neural networks have existed for 4 decades ; without the deep- part, but we know their potential power and we still have not been replaced. Granted, this time it's different. I thi

The problem with screen readers is summarized "Screen readers assume the content inside a table is tabular". Are divs better just because they are undefined? It seems to me that the problem would more easily be solved by adding so

Well the issue of semantics was not exactly solved by turning everything to <div>s. It's still a mess, but a different mess. I would even say it's bad to have display:table-cell because it's reduntant.
