Perhaps we should have an alternative to GitHub that only allows artisanal code that is hand-written by humans. No clankers allowed. GitHub >>> PeopleHub. The robots are free to create their own websites. SlopHub.

The last time my Time Machine backup was corrupt was in 2013 when I was writing to a SMB share over a PPTP VPN through a 4G connection. I don’t blame Apple for my own crappy infrastructure, corruption was bound to happen.

The wide LACK (90x55) has a lower weight rating than the square one (55x55). 20 versus 25 kilogram.

I’m fairly certain that a large percentage of people who buy thermal printer for fun do so from China, which has no regulations on thermal paper.

That’s part of the EU USB-C regulation. You must offer a version of the laptop without a charger (unbundling) in order to reduce e-waste. Apple adheres to this by only shipping the MacBook without a charger.

Wow! Over 600 grams for the 11” Air keyboard. That is almost as much as a mechanical keyboard. I had no idea the total combination would be near a MacBook in weight.

I still remember when the Air lineup was all about being small and light.

That was including all associated cost for both forms of transport. This was in The Netherlands, which has one of the best public transport in the EU so I expect it to be worse elsewhere. If you already have a car, you typically do your oth

It’s impressive how quickly the WWW became mainstream, given how few people had internet access back then. Bitcoin is now 16 years old but compared to the WWW in 2008 is hardly used on a daily basis.

I calculated this back when I commuted daily. I was spending €700 a month on my car. Public transport would have been only €450 a month. Still went by car. Car was 35 minutes door to door in a climate controlled environment with a good seat

Point still stands that public transportation is not the default mode. There isn’t a country with the cycling infrastructure of The Netherlands. And The Netherlands only has that cycling infrastructure due to its urban sprawl and low densit

I sometimes take a peak into European busses but I don't see 25-30 people sitting in there on average. That is a lot of people. Busses, at least the one where I live in Europe, are very loud, noisy and smelly. I'd rather have 20 c
