Did you report it to the FCC? I understand if you didn't, as a consumer, and this is not an attack on you. But this kind of thing should be punished, and one of the main ways to do this is to bring this to the attention of the regulati

Yes, but there are two risks to that: 1) the conventional explosive detonates and it's similar enough to "normal" operating procedures to create critical mass and the nuke detonates 2) the radioactive material is spread out o

There have been many accidents, of a kind where even one is one too many. Given the potential damage, I certainly don't feel comfortable with your assessment that there wasn't any danger it would go off. Likely these things happen

To me, a fun thing to realize was that putting my phone in airplane mode wasn't enough to stop the phone from discharging a lot during the night. Also, installing SSL Packet Capture showed me that some of my (not even considered shady)

Cool, but I don't really get the intended audience, if there's any specific? Games? I guess VR/AR stuff, like Google cardboard. I like that they have the C64: https://poly.google.com/view/9Qc5EtYmJry alt

Got this today. It does to power analysis what Saleae Logic did to logic analyzers. That is, at the cost of performance (you can't do the high-end stuff), it makes it so much easier to get started. This one is about 400 euro, while a &

I guess the microcontroller controls a fan using PWM with a duty cycle depending on the mode. Even if you could do it with a 555, it's easier to just do it with a microcontroller. It also makes it easier to make changes up until produc

Agree, for learning and that feeling of knowing more or less exactly what is going on, uc's like AVR, STM8, or MSP430 are hard to beat. It's comparatively simple to do things, and almost everything is just a couple of register set

It's interesting that not only the later platform - the Arduino, which started out with AVR and aimed at simplifying programming the devices - but the AVR chip itself started out with the goal of simplifying the process of using it (pr

Argh, this must be so frustrating for the Kodi devs...! There really is a very strong case for running a Kodi-box for ones own legit collection, and now it's just mentioned for the (admittedly, probably) not so slight share of piracy.

Argh, this is very interesting, but they don't say what it is! Does anyone know? What was the update? Did that really single-handedly (or almost) bump price 12k->25k? "To make things worse, an update to the prototype's des

"closest approach" is very unquantified, and 400 meter is a very small object in a large space. It's a hard problem, probably not very prioritized either.

Fun thing: the SR-71 is built as well to cope with massive expansion once up to speed, so much so it is leaking all over the place when groundborne.

That CD is probably unreadable by now, unless you used a disc made specifically for storage and it has been stored in a climate controlled storage space. They lose out quite quickly.

Also check out the other example dismap shows: Excitebike! Much fewer and longer subroutines. Interesting, I wonder if that in turn is mostly a result of developer coding style differences, or a result of game mechanics being different.
