You find a circle interesting. Do you also find ovals interesting? You find lightning interesting, but do you find a few atoms blowing in the wind interesting? Why are some things more interesting than others?

You are referring to 'Kinds'. Humans classified all of these, and you are merely repeating the classification.

What about the area that isnt part of the circle, is that a property of the universe? What about when I drop crumbs on a table and they scatter, is there something special about their location? Is there something more special about a circle

I'm not sure what point you are making. This is language too.

Discover? You mean name circles and claim that 2 pi r = c? Do you think there is something special about 2*111 = 222? Humans had to define every step from length of a line to the significance of roundness. Its all language.

>Pi seams to be a property of the universe If you also agree 1 = 1 is a property of the universe, sure... But these are really just linguistic notations stacked upon each other until statements like 2 pi r = c are true. I can write plent

What makes circles more special than a bunch of crumbs? Humans decided circles are interesting. I am not denying analytical philosophy doesnt make true statements, but rather that there isnt anything mystical about these true statements. Th

Maybe this is a good place to post it because its about religion. I didn't think you could have 2 existential crisis, but I did. First one was Religion -> Agnosticism... Second was: Platonic Realism to Pragmatism. I used to think th

I looked it up, and you are taking about a 5 year outdated version. I'm not opposed to trying it, I just would prefer to spend my time not messing around. The other wrench is that we arent just using Catia, we are using Visual Studio a

Over the last week, I helped 4 people get a piece of software working on Windows. Something I found mind boggling is that the windows/search button doesnt load every time. From my nvidia 3060 gpu laptop, to my tiny i5, to cheap refurbi

For some reason we only focus on the names of corporations when it comes to corruption in Medical. There is almost no criticism of Physicians in all of this. They are a top 4 lobbying group with a half a billion dollars in bribes. They use

I dont mind the UN building. But as an IR Realist, I find it a bit insulting that the UN pretends it has power. It only is used as moral coating to protect the status quo.

No need to be black and white. Reading can be active, if I'm taking notes on nonfiction its a somewhat active process. Reading can be passive, if I'm cruising on a fiction book.

I'm going to take a guess and say you don't use linux as your daily desktop. As mentioned, you 'see' but you havent lived it. You hear about it, but you are viewing it at 10,000 ft, rather than in a home. Just because th

This is idealistic not realistic. With enough effort, this is true... but out of the box, you are going to have significantly more bugs and conflicts using outdated distros. I'd love to see a 'time in terminal' by distro. I i

When we say outdated, we mean the version of the kernel and other software. Not the first time it came out. When referring to the terminal, these are 1 time events every 12 months. Its not really a huge deal on Fedora because you basically

I think Fedora should be taken out too. Fedora stands alone and shouldn't be lumped in with the rest of the LinuxOS. Fedora going up is a sign of progress. Regular Linux going up is just a sign that Windows sucks.

I might be a bit contrarian on this. I think the biggest obstacle in the Linux world is people knee jerk recommending Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/outdated linux. If people rallied around the current SOTA, Fedora, we would've hit
