I was a Windows modding enthusiast until I tried Linux and the modding there was superior (and then compiz appeared). These days whenever I use Windows I install bash and use a terminal so I don't really care about the window managemen

Because of the vowel following consonants, my mind splits that word into these syllables: Ea-cho-ther, so not as natural as those other words. Then again, it's English, the only rule is there's no rules.

The extreme version of this is the game Nier where they completely replaced the protagonist. The Japanese version had a kid trying to save his sister while the western version had a old man trying to save his daughter.

Can we make it good-enough? And not by adding features to it but by making websites that don't need them? I'd rather browse the kind of web that browsers like Dillo and Ladybird can browse.

There are games I play were one of the players' machines becomes the server. In some it's transparent to them, you just join their world or lobby, in others it's explicit and you even have to input the host's IP to enter

I thought the same but from another perspective, it's better to explain things in a language you dominate and let others translate it to theirs, which might be a good or bad translation; than translate it yourself to a language you don

It's a simple `git remote set-url` to fix it, unless you are using some github proprietary API which is the kind of vendor lock-in they want to avoid.

Same reason why Duolingo is bad for learning languages, or progress in games with microtransactions is so slow. Better alternatives exist but they require more investment from the user, be it money or time.
