I always compare using tmux to learning touch typing, it's something you do once (by investing a bit of time to learn it) and reap the benefits for decades to come.

Let's hope it actually reads the available combinations from ~/.XCompose. I am pretty sure that this was not the case (at least at some point in the past).

A lot of complaints here. I personally never had any problems with Amazon (Germany). I might not have noticed that I received counterfeits for certain products, though. Does the shady stuff only happen in certain countries?

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_star Also interesting: "The hypothesis that stars exist only in galaxies was disproven in 1997 with the discovery of intergalactic stars."

What I try to do for my application, all offline features are free and features that talk to the backend are paid. Of course that won't work for every type of application. The idea is that only paying customers generate any cost (aside

That's very true. What also helps is not only to have milestones but also have people (preferably prospective customers, but friends are great as well) you can show your milestone results; this often serves as some kind of reality chec

Mostly hard science fiction with the occasional technical non-fiction book mixed in between. For the next year I want to read more non-fiction non-technical books.

I was able to get $firstname.{dev,app}. My idea was to deploy my apps at $app.$firstname.{dev,app} for dev and prod stages respectively. Now I only need apps that I can deploy there. I am still a bit reluctant to use either one as my primar

Is that so? – It rings true to me. The longer justice is delayed the less the population cares about it and people get away with whatever injustice they did. For whatever reason [0] came to my mind thinking about it. [0]: https:/

This might be useful to teach beginners in our company the basics of SQL. We already use a rather "playful" approach to teach Java to them.

Fractional scaling finally arrived, I will try it ASAP. Last time I looked in to Xfce there was no way to have a fixed workspace on a secondary display (something that possible in Gnome, for instance). Since I use workspace a lot having a s

Indeed, no hooks mentioned on that page, though. Also, on first glance, that looks like trivial integrations. Ah, I also forgot to mention, what I'd like to see is more documentation on how to hide an imperative API behind a more decla

Very important use case. Actually, I am baffled how a lot of the common frameworks (React, Angular) omit some kind of documentation on how to integrate with third-party libraries that operate on the DOM directly (charting being a very good

Yeah, I had the same problem, kind of made me switch to Tailwind, actually. The places where I used dynamic rules based on props were replaced with dynamic classes.

That's rather sad, union types are really what I like most about TypeScript. This might explain why VS Code feels so slow sometimes when type checking, because I have a few types that rely heavily on unions.

I am writing my own kind of Roam-style editor which is more free-form. From my experience, it's way easier – from a technical perspective – to think in terms of list items (or "blocks" in general) where each one is some kind

I wholeheartedly agree with basically everything you said. Reactive Forms are really great in general, but not being strongly typed is really a shame. I am aware though that it's not easy to actually make it strongly typed for various

I wonder if one can rely on this working forever. I might have a product idea that relies on being able to change the new tab page, but I am kind of afraid Chrome forbids it one of these days.
