While I do think it's a great interview question, I do think all technical candidacy flows where the person will be programming must have a coding component of some kind. Even just "FizzBuzz" is better than no coding. That sa

I read it as asking for a function that takes a string and returns a "true" if it's a word comprised of two words and a "false" if it's not. So: "lampshade" => true "grip" => fa

It's true. I was teasing, but I did work this out once. IIRC it went something like: A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 5 E = 7 F = 11 ... and so on Then any number can be represented in terms of its prime factorization: 4

Your joke was misinterpreted as a dig, unfortunately. I mean, it's obvious that a prime-number base is best above all: 1 = 1 10 = 2 100 = 3 1000 = 5 10000 = 7 100000 = 11 etc

If the test is open ended like "implement a simple API and a client that accesses it" then it's a terrible test. Tests that are better the more time you put into it are always terrible take home tests. If it has well-defined

I have a whole concert of tinnitus frequencies. It is not a single tone. I don't remember when it started, but it has been there for decades. I've read that tinnitus is akin to phantom limb syndrome, the brain compensating for mis

I am frankly surprised they do not all do this, and predict they all will. There will be no "don't connect it to the internet" nor even "use a pie hole" solutions possible, because the manufacturers will intentional

I was decently productive while a "flow" practitioner but I am definitely more productive than that after abandoning it as a concept. It's much easier to pick up where I left off because code is structured that way.

People often misuse the Socratic method like that. Socrates asked those questions not to guide the students to a certain answer, but because he himself didn't know where the questions would lead. It really was a dialogue and not a way

I thought the consensus was that "flow" isn't actually all that great. If you're writing code while juggling multiple difficult concepts in your mind at once, your code will be difficult to follow. While in flow, you ten

Dunno man. Booting the invaders and keeping sovereignty after your tiny nation of 3 million is invaded by an army of over 500K soldiers seems like a win to me, especially when literally every other neighbor fell. But whatever. Finland'
