To be honest, I kinda like Apple's "walled garden" approach on some level. No perfect, not ideal for power-users, but for the general non-techy person, I think it's great. I don't have to worry about my kids install

The problem is that money is now immaterial, numbers in a computer somewhere, but we live in a material world. Imagine your city desperately needs to build a new subway station or hospital. It has the civil engineers, the architects, the ma

I agree. The podcasts I enjoy the most are produced by radios (CBC, NPR, BBC) because there's not much fluff, inside jokes and rambling from the hosts. The audio is good, the content is good and well presented by the hosts. Sometimes t

I had a couple of episodes of sleep paralysis where I experienced auditory hallucinations. Often times, the voices I heard were clear as day, which was strange since I wore ear plugs during a lot of these experiences. Also, I saw an article

Perhaps something like a coop would be optimal? The coop would have to turn a profit, but then it has to be transparent in its management because in the end, it must serve the interest of its members.

Google buying Qualcomm? That could be interesting for sure, but I don't think that would happen.

I would say yes. Intel are better at marketing than AMD (think decades of TV ads and the little Intel Inside stickers).

I know there's alternative ROMs such as LineageOS, but I wish it was possible to install Android directly from Google. Like, you download an app from the Play Store, it scans your hardware and download a fresh Android build from Google

I disagree. Google is much more "humanistic" today than it was years ago when they had a more "bare bone" design approach.

I saw a modern monastery once. It had a great contemporary design and the place was built to encourage contemplation and inner peace. I bet working there is amazing.
