Am I the only one who doesn't mind the blue/orange gradient? I don't get why everyone is going mental about it (this article and many like it have popped up frequently over the last few years). The article itself isn't even worth reading, f

Basically each step in your form is a state in the state machine. When a user submits one step, you move the state machine to the next state. You can add conditionals for when to skip a step, and you can specify validations for each step th

I discovered how state machines can be practical when checking the source code of Spree, the rails e-commerce engine. The checkout-process is a state machine. I'd highly recommend using state machines for multi-step forms. It feels very nat

I like to believe this would be less than 1%. Medicine is science, and I hope while designing modern CPR guidelines they did tests to see if pursuing CPR even while all signs suggest death, for long periods of time, would revive more people

This article is bullshit. I'm sorry but it really, truly is. I've noticed a trend here on HN that more and more of these inane articles are appearing, labelling some group and then stereotypically applying properties to the people in them.

It's really pretty abysmal. I, too, have an MBP. There's 2GB free RAM left, and browsing is basically all I do, yet it feels continually sluggish. Makes you think you're using a netbook ;-)

If only more people were willing. I'm 100% positive that most current ad-based free content providers would like nothing more than to charge for their content and get rid of the ads.
