There is less risk without protected branches than you think, especially if you catch and contain the problem early. GitHub allows you to restore branches and commits are restorable from the ref log.

Definitely worth pointing out, but I don't take issue with their wording. KPMG has a worldwide presence and is an incredibly popular auditing firm. It's certainly possible for KPMG to be a "well-respected auditing firm"

Sounds like an office design problem if people are using the toilets as their private space. Maybe there was no other existing space for the same purpose, that is, a space where you are alone and have complete privacy.

Many casinos have two-way mirrored ceilings for observation. Hopefully it's a normal mirror in the restroom ceilings, otherwise I'm not sure how legal it would be.

I run into the same problem with React and it bugs me from a testing standpoint. Extracting code from a big component to helper functions and extracting those functions from the component can lead to cleaner code, and it makes it much easie

This seems like a knee jerk reaction because a co-worker's sloppy rebase caused you to waste a day. This highlights a bigger issue, many people don't learn their tools well enough. I've been teaching my fellow senior engineer
