Yea it’s nonsense. Factories are fantastic. If you want to do something as a hobby, sure don’t use the most advanced tools and do it by hand, but for everyone else especially professionals who are charging other people for their time and ef

Sounds a bit like those places aren’t at the scale where a platform team makes sense. What about when the one dev deploying their jar to an ec2 instance moves on to another company, how does the next dev even understand what this jar stuff

All of the ships ever built minus all of the ships ever repurposed/recycled minus all of the boats that inexplicably end up sitting on a trailer in a desert somewhere. So pretty much all of the ships ever built.

Beer is super easy to make shelf stable. Most of the non craft beer you drink is pasteurized and re-carbonated. Some craft can be bottle conditioned, both I would consider shelf stable.

I live in the US but grew up on a dairy farm in Ireland. In my personal experience the two milks are very different.

Nope. American milk is pasteurized to a much higher temp. It lasts way longer. Irish goes off in days, US milk will last a month in the fridge. The extra pasteurization effects the taste and flavor.

Women are more than able to do manual jobs and it’s very common that they do. Strange ideas about gender roles are coloring your perception of what is normal.

You seem to be conflating drug use with homelessness. Lots of unhoused people are not on drugs and lots (the vast, vast majority) of drug users have homes. I think conflating the two is not productive.

Well one problem is once corporations get involved is money starts flowing to influence Politicians to do the Corps bidding. So, I wouldn't say it's neutral.

To my mind this is an example of a failing in the federation system in the USA. First off, I hope we can agree that the homelessness problem in the US is not normal and not something a developed wealthy country should have (just so we are a

So the difference between medieval ale and (present day)ale ? Or the difference between medieval ale and (present day) beer ? Is that what you think they mean?

There were many different strengths of beer which (often)corresponded to different runnings/washing’s of the malt. The initial wort has higher amounts of sugars/fermentables while the later washes have significantly less. It could

Yea, but the author is in the present day and is using the terms beer and ale which are present day terms - not speaking a medieval language. They seem to think that beer and ale are different because of hop content- which isn’t true. To qu

The author seems confused about beer and ale. Ale is beer but not all beer is ale. He seems to think it’s about hopping. It’s not. It’s about top and bottom fermenting yeast. Top is ale bottom is lager. That’s all there is. Nothing to do wi

I think the biggest issue I have with the comparison is the density. Ireland is a relatively densely populated country. Rural land is very densely populated, there is no section of the country that isn't spoken for. This is because unl

I'm not following your analogy at all. Ireland is 32k square miles, Washington state is 72k square miles. Washington State has about 16% more people with about 2.25 times the land area.
