"The backdoor that was created through one of our partners, MongoHQ who are managing our database." Looks like the database is managed by MongoHQ. That's what OP is talking about.

You can verify the fingerprint, can't you? Not that I always do it (even is just the "first time", as you said), but IMHO the SSH model is definitely better than a central authority you have to pay to get your certificate s

I don't think so because it is really easy to install Python 2 and have both versions installed. I'm already doing that, the difference is that "python" for me is Python 2 and I have to run "python3" to use P

Me too. ARJ was easier to use IIRC, specially with muli-volume archives (frequent if you had to split an archive into several diskettes). I used ARJ mostly, until RAR came in, of course ;)

You need to root the device exploiting a vulnerability (CVE-2013-2094 if I'm not mistaken). ZTE "Open" is not that open I'm afraid. EDIT: no longer true, ZTE enabled "fastboot".

ZTE Open is still 1.0.1, LG Fireweb runs Firefox OS 1.1. If you can get a Fireweb, don't waste your time with the ZTE.

IPv6 behaviour seems to be the same: "ping6 ::" pings to ::1: (localhost). This is intriguing, really :) EDIT: oh, you already pointed to the RFC :)

I don't know about the OP, but in Ubuntu Precise "ping 0" pings to 127.0.0.1. I can't explain why.

I guess the price is already quite low and at some point the cost of the power, space, etc would be higher than the rental price. Do you want a new new server or a server that is 2+ years old and it's reaching its end of life? I met pe

I would use JSON. I'm using python-memcached in a project and I was hitting memcache object size limit (python-memcached uses pickle by default). I wrote two simple functions to serialize/unserialize to/from JSON and compress

Well, the like/dislike are totally subjective things. I can't tell if I like or dislike most of the languages of the list because I don't use them or, in some cases, I don't use them enough to have a strong opinion.

I'd love to get FFOS updates in my ZTE Open because 1.0.1 feels more like a dev preview than an end user product, to the point that it is almost useless as a smartphone. I can see the potential, but I'm not buying a new device jus
