Yes... I did. One day I just stopped drinking it. There may be something in your lifestyle that you are doing that coffee hides that you need to change. It could be going to bed too late, eating too late, or even taking a shower too late. A

For me the greatest thing about Linux is that I am not at the whims of Microsoft or Apple about when they decide to change the UI. I have been using XFCE for years and it is basically the same as fifteen years ago. If I want to change somet

I find case sensitivity to be a pro. Once on a case-insensitive OS I tried to rename a file by changing the case on a character and it didn't work...I think it might have been MacOS. Anyway, I simply don't understand how case-inse

Lightworks is also a really nice commercial editor that works on Linux. The free version supports 720p output. It is not as fully featured as Davinci Resolve, but then it also requires much more modest system resources.

Luckily it works with Firefox reader mode. I use that for nearly all sites that try and be different or have too many sidebars, etc.

I don't think they (employers/government) should end maternity or paternity leave. What I DO think they should do is give a similar one- or two-time leave period to single people also, and that would come with societal resources s

I switched away from Gmail about twelve years ago. It was not hard. I did get my own domain. What I did was I started forwarding my email there. I sat down, made a list of all services that I used Gmail with and changed my address. Every ti

It seems to be a trend these days that if something doesn't work right, people take to the public internet in the hopes that it will be fixed faster. I've seen this tactic on internet forums with products, after which companies of

Install Linux on them when MacOS is no longer supported on your machine, perhaps? If your laptop still works, you should still be able to use it even if it is no longer supported. Also, many people like to work with dual boot devices. And n

It is depressing. But as in Asimov's 'Foundation' novels, even though we cannot stop the dark times, we can ameliorate them. This will require a multi-pronged approach: individuals consuming less, greener approaches to farmin

Totally agree with this post...however, to be extremely pedantic (and thus not suitable for the article in question), a tuple in the foundations of mathematics is typically defined as a set. That is, (x,y) := {x,{x,y}}, where the latter is

A lot of shared hosts support LetsEncrypt now. I actually installed them on mine and to my surprise I saw a massive reduction in spam attacks also.

It is a bit fiddly to use indeed, but it is the best free software out there. Nothing compares, and I've tried pretty much all of them. Lilypond is great but it is not an easy to learn on-the-fly composition tool.

eBird is actually very useful for identifications, because you can check out all photos anyone has ever submitted for that species and pick up subtle variations. Also, you listed the incorrect URL. The correct one is [1], which is an Androi

This is definitely true. There are also other things that are very difficult to get to work for math papers in HTML (even with conversions) such complex TikZ and other diagrams. Also, HTML rendering is still pretty ugly compared to LaTeX PD

All these replies to my comment may be true, but all of them are actually forgetting the impact we are doing to wildlife and the natural world. So, while we can easily grow and become even more populous, we are just destroying our world at

Honestly, I think a shared server is enough for most people. And with that, the server is patched automatically. Wordpress on cPanel can autoupdate too...so really you don't have to worry much about that.
