A lot of dev folks should (in theory) be able to get away with just having a browser on one side of the screen and a CLI terminal with tmux on the other. Both windows with tabs, and fixed in position. What kind of setup should be used for t

Yeah, I forgot about the Henry and George. A good choice if you're in the UK (made in UK). Hotels and office cleaners use them a lot - which is a sure mark of reliability. I've actually got a Neato robot vac now. I'm not sure

And how are people supposed to develop for this new technology if they haven't released a Mac pro for nearly 4 years, and graphic card support is well behind Windows?

A legally enforced 10 year rule would be great. Works for 10 years or your money back! I've got a mid-2007 iMac I'm still using. Great build quality. Unfortunately the latest macs seem gimmicky - thin iMacs and touchbar MacBooks e

A good rule is just to buy Miele or high-end Bosch. Make sure it's made in Germany and sold in the German market. They have higher standards. I don't know if this is true for ovens, but with other appliances it's a good rule

Apple have made some terrible design decisions since Jobs died. A 'thin iMac' - whose thin-ness was absolutely pointless. The MacBook (2 lbs) and MacBook Pro (3 lbs) were designed to weigh arbitrary weights instead of thinking abo

I've always thought origami-style cardboard furniture would be a good idea. Cut, fold, put on a blanket and cushions, and you've got a sofa. And getting hold of some cardboard is not difficult.

The nerds don't like it when their own - Brendan Eich, Tim Hunt, Richard Dawkins, DongleGate guy etc - get witch-hunted by the SJWs. So it's no surprise that they let off steam by supporting people who oppose that stuff.

Is there a powerful laptop which can be 'hackintoshed' to run macOS? Apple's current machines are unappealing. It feels like the mid-90s just before Apple started allowing Mac clones. Apple had given up producing appealing ma
