Agreed. I think this is one area I’d hope to see exceptions for on any implementation. I can’t attest to how fair of a process this is, but MTA seems to be giving medical exceptions some lip service: https://new.mta.info/tol

I think this policy is only feasible in cities with decent public transportation. I’d struggle to list any more than 1-2 other American cities where this could be done though. A lot of cities that do have public transportation seem to have

Vagrant’s popularity seems to have died down with Docker containers but it’s by far my favorite way to make dev environments. Several years ago I worked somewhere that prohibited web browsers and development tools on laptops. If you needed

Not sure if I agree with an engineer inherently being better here. The ideal case is having leadership who uses the product, or at least is willing to walk in the shoes of an end-user. Plenty of engineers do not do this either.

And my friends are from a sports group that meets up every Sunday, who aren’t any bit related to work. Some people prefer meeting others outside of work and there’s nothing wrong with it. My coworkers are wonderful folks but, frankly, won’t

Sure but that’s just unrealistic to expect getting everything and at the price point you want. Pi’s niche is the ecosystem. It hasn’t been about cheap in a long while.

I disagree with the assertion of “rushing the hire” right now. Nobody in their right mind is waiting on 1 candidate for several weeks to maybe hear from them unless there aren’t other good options. And unless you’re notorious and exceptio

I'm in the US and my current IP address puts me in an area about 30 miles away currently. However, last year up until a few weeks ago my IP would place me in my current ZIP code (using ipinfo). My city is comprised of several ZIP codes

I wonder if apps are abusing background app refresh to do this on iOS. My understanding is that it isn't difficult to create a background task that can periodically make network requests. Just have a background task make a HTTP request

It's an employer's market. Why would an employer want to wait 3-4 weeks for someone to interview elsewhere when there's a dozen other candidates in the pipeline?

I think there's a few things to consider though: 1. Not all gamers use the features that may be annoying to use on Linux. Anecdotally, only a handful of friends use streaming and most of the time it's to play party games. 2. I th

There’s a reason it’s being implemented in an open source application that gets actual use instead of a random-word-generated-elevator-pitch being chased by VC funds and dinosaurs in the stock market.

Focusing on cheap would be the real “niche” area here. There are plenty of alternative boards if price is your driving concern.

I'd be willing to bet that it's valuation is completely detached from the social network and is simply a way investors are using to bet on Trump's brand. The social network is just tagging along for the ride. Similar to Tesla

This isn't just an outsourcing/H1B thing. I think the current H1B rhetoric is partially used as a distraction from a bigger shift: a broad deprioritization of US hiring by US firms. The company I work for stopped hiring anyone clo
