I agree Proxmox default networking is lacking/insufficient at best. If you have VLANs or want to do LACP, anything more advanced than a simple interface you'll run into the limitations of the Proxmox implementation quite quickly.

I would look up intel N100 mini PCs. Extremely low power and fast enough (it’s even got hardware decoding).

How are you finding Nix for the homelab to be? Every time I try it I just end up confused, maybe next time will be the charm. The reason I ask is I homelab “hardcore”; i.e. I have a 25U rack and I run a small Kubernetes cluster and ceph via

I'll preface this by saying I'm not american so I have no horse in this race. IMHO this is entirely justified, I tried Bluesky for a couple months and I found the same thing; it's an echo chamber of american liberal extremism

I feel like this whole thing is widely misunderstood as a dichotomy; there is a spectrum of services, it’s not “pay a hyperscaler or own your racks, your land, building, run your own BGP, run generators, HVAC”. What I personally think is we

The more time I spend in engineering roles the more I think too many people are great at persuading but suck at the underlying thing they're persuading _for_.

No worries, QwQ is the thinking model from Qwen, it’s a common misconception. I think they should’ve named it something else.

This is really cool. Any chance you can make the backend selfhostable with ollama as an option for the LLM?

As a passenger the A320 and its variations are the worst plane to be on, and I’ve been all over the world. They’re always a low cost airline favorite and you feel like a sardine in it; the boarding takes forever since they can hold up to 23

FWIW I've recently seen this exact thing play out, I can't really go into the nitty gritty but someone who had VP/Director positions in well known US public companies was brought in on a big project that's local to Europ

The assumption that those are the only people that are able to build something like that is simply false. There's plenty of talent around, it just needs capital.

Well, I'm of the opinion that one of the other blockers of major EU growth is the lack of a singular financial market; instead of one market like the USA, we have 27 markets. Twenty seven different sets regulations that all need to go

The elephant in the room here is pay. You can’t expect people to bend over backwards for 70k/yr. Start paying 2-300k in Europe and watch shit being built.

It takes months and you’re required to go to a notary at least twice and you have to put down 12500/25000EUR. This is absolute nonsense. In the UK you can open a limited company with 12GBP in a matter of days. Oh and it’s completely on
