But everyone else is using it now so who needs encryption anyway? Sorry for the snark. I agree with you but trying to raise a raucous about client-side encryption seems to be useless at this point. I only hope they use some of that funding

Nice to see an article on this subject. I'm of the thought that basic analytics are an extension of an app's/site's dashboard. You do have a dashboard don't you?

Thanks for the update. I did have one other question and wasn't sure where to post it here. What's your timeline for a Perl API binding?

Choice. For many, simply that there is an alternative is enough to not only keep other providers around but also thrive. The hosting world is huge.

A consortium or whatnot of startup(or existing) companies might be an interesting way to both announce/broadcast their services/products and also create a standard privacy/user-data policy. Any ideas? Work towards common goals: -Privacy b

For those who do use inetd, you might be interested in xinetd which has some access controls. I've been using this for years as well for very simple apps and it "just works." http://www.xinetd.org/

In addition to Wuala, Spideroak does this as well. A problem remains "with full security" in that you have no idea what's going on in the binary client program. Reveal or open-source the client program and allow customers who need this end
