Surprisingly enough... there is no set rule here. Some people have trouble doing both, others manage both just fine. I would guess there is a correlation between those that really want to achieve both and those that do. Are we going to a

I usually think these "CSS tricks" are neat but I would never use them. This is actually a very nice design and used in the right context could easily add to the UX. Well done!

Thanks, I will post there on Feb 1st. I am really keen to find ways to find people that aren't necessarily looking for work. I expect great developers likely already have work or are commonly poached and don't hit the job forums. I plan

Revenue is not the same as profit, they could very easily be running at a loss even with that amount of revenue. We have seen this in extremes with companies like Groupon lately.

I think there is a difference about being inspired by ideas or concepts in a design and plain ripping it off completely. That for me is the big difference. As for no harm done, I don't agree with that. A lot of 37signals audience and mark

Your response here makes it worse not better. You copied from them blatantly including linking to their assets and then your first lesson learnt is "add credits"... really? You are still not planning on taking it down, just adding a credit

Sadly I was the same, they lost me at that second graph. Even if I was to excuse the ability to go back in time, I just don't believe that really illustrates how failed products go (ie. very strong growth and then just as fast decline), mo

Agreed. Whilst I agree with making a stand against GoDaddy, all of the effort going into the Anti-GoDaddy campaign could probably be better spent directly at SOPA.

I think it would be naive to assume "person that knows all about hacker news" = "great candidate". It could be argued spending too much time on hacker news is not what you want in your employees. Back to the main point, the real issue I ha

I agree with your sentiment, but I just don't see how this particular ad would make anyone say "Yes! That's the company culture for me". I guess that's what I am asking here though... does it inspire you to apply (or would it if you were lo

Your time is worth money. There is always going to be a magic number that makes it worthwhile to pay someone to do something than to do it yourself. There is a good chance these recurring billing systems fall under that magic number. If y
