I'm forced to use a bank app in order to authenticate, even if I want to login on the desktop website. I think it's because of an EU regulation for strong authentication.

I also can't stand Android preventing me from taking a screenshot. It's on my screen, I have the right to take a screenshot. I understand the technical limit of taking screenshots of DRM-protected content (e.g. Netflix), but why w

Yes, I've migrated to Kubuntu first and now I'm enjoying Linux Mint. The Cinnamon environment gives me old-school GNOME vibes. And Mint doesn't have Snap, which is also a big plus.

In a way, it's nice because young people will find way to circumvent the limits and they'll learn "hacking", just like we used to do in the very different internet we grew up with.

Cinnamon is an independent project, it's not based on GNOME. Or what else are you referring to?

If you want an experience that's similar to GNOME-when-it-was-good, I'd suggest Cinnamon, the desktop environment of Linux Mint.

I agree. GNOME used to be perfect, now it looks and feels like it's been designed by someone who's never used a computer. I wish Ubuntu would just give up with GNOME and switch to something more sensible.

John Ive was the catalyst for the horrible UX that macOS has now.

I agree. MacOS became completely unusable with Liquid Glass, it totally feels like one of those amateur custom themes for Linux. I hope the new leadership will bring back better software. As of now, macOS 26 is disgusting.

Also, to me, "anyone who can view this page" sounds like "anyone _in this workspace_ that can view this page", not "anyone _on the public web_".

Infomaniak is Swiss, so it makes sense that the municipality decided to go with a local service.

They do that in order to keep their service safe from spammers and cryptominers.

I personally find Hetzner's Console even better than DigitalOcean's one, especially since DigitalOcean now looks like three slightly different consoles depending on which page you're in. It feels like they've been migrat

In Italy parking is free for residents. And street parking in the city centre is usually cheap (2 or 3 euros per hour). Car culture in Italy is still too strong; but luckily many municipalities are working to decrease parking spots and buil

I find the whole OVH web control panel atrocious. It's so buggy I couldn't even have my account deleted, not even after contacting their customer support (they just told me to fix it myself using their APIs...).

Hetzner makes you pay 1 € per IPv4, while IPv6 is free. I'd gladly get rid of all IPv4's given that I have many servers.

> that has nothing to do with React and Electron Not only that, but I think that Electron leads to the opposite problem: all apps look and behave differently, they don't follow platform guidelines, they look out of place.

Piracy websites, adult content, etc. Also, Yandex image reverse search seems way more unfiltered than Google's counterpart.

I also don't like giving money to Russia, but unfortunately Yandex seems like the last big search engine not to censor a lot of results (I know it won't last forever).

That's scary. I'm in the process of moving all of my services to Europe, and I had considered BunnyCDN, but after this I'm not so sure anymore. I also tried Hetzner Object Storage. I love Hetzner, they're great, except f

Have you actually tried a modern distro like Linux Mint? Seriously, you don't even need to touch the terminal, everything is neatly organized in a single control panel (unlike the messy >2 control panels situation of Windows). You c

Linux Mint is super easy to use. I've personally battle tested it with my elder parents. Given all the nagware present in Windows 11, I'd even say Linux Mint is easier than Windows. The most difficult part is probably the instal

Mozilla is so sad. They have a lot of money and they could fund the development of both Firefox and Thunderbird. Yet, they decide to waste almost $7 million per year to pay a CEO and God knows what else.

Yes, I stopped using SourceForge after they started tampering with installers to put adware inside of them. It's a bit worrying that a sensitive app such as VeraCrypt is still distributed there.

This trick is actually used by some banking apps. They fill app their mobile apps with junk data just to make the APK/IPA bigger. So if they need to push an urgent update, they won't have users that can't update because their
