Also they're probably trying to prevent lawmakers from coming up with stricter limits. "We're already marking AI videos as AI, no need to change!"

They don't really want to label ads as ads (no advertiser really does...); they're forced by regulations from multiple countries.

Yeah exactly, they could have made their service useful by showing your subscriptions instead. Yet, they decided to enshittify for people who want choices.

Now I'm not sure if I should believe you or if you're a smart marketer yourself. Plus, why in the world would you blindly buy ten T-Shirts you don't know twice ?

It's also illegal for minors to watch adult movies. It's already illegal. Age verification is just an additional step that won't stop minors that really want to watch porn, while creating a 1984 style database of people and t

No, what I mean is that adding a lot of laws to let websites be legal (age verification, GDPR, etc.) adds a huge burden and that prevents new small websites from even existing.

Exactly. More laws about internet services = less new competitors coming into the market, because the barriers to entry are too high.

People also wanted to smoke cigarettes but they got fierce opposition from their parents. That's what parents should do. Maybe we should teach parents how to be parents instead of imposing draconian age checks (read: mass surveillance)

The Master-Gender-Switch answer doesn't actually answer, it's just an external link that is now broken. This is the archived version of that link: https://web.archive.org/web/20110204205739/http:/&#x

I use both Unicredit and Intesa almost daily and they're both dreadful. And their "home banking" websites are even worse. Useless notifications, pop-ups everywhere, they even stuff ads in between my account balance list. They

Too bad that, for Italy, BancomatPay joined instead of Satispay, an app that's actually used (especially in the North). Almost nobody uses BancomatPay.

And that's also the reason why they introduced "age verification". It's not age verification, they couldn't care less about children. Age verification is just mass surveillance under a fake name.

Win32 is absolutely the best GUI system, you get the most clean, performant and easy-to-use results. I wish Microsoft just sticked to Win32 instead of reinventing the wheel with worse solutions.

This is very bad. Google has truly become evil. My only hope left is that the EU will step in and prevent this. At least in Europe.

Unfortunately, each European country has a different "national" payment method. Swish in Sweden, MobilePay in Denmark/Finland, iDEAL in the Netherlands, etc. Of course you can't sign up to a specific country payment syst

I agree, age verification on the web should 100% banned. Parents should learn how to be parents; the government shouldn't force companies to do parenting instead.

Ryanair is the best performing budget airline in Europe and they only buy new planes, because it's way cheaper to run them. Less time on land for maintenance = less wasted money.
