One thing is letting them develop a sense of humor; another thing is lying to them when they're clearly not able to distinguish between a lie and the truth.

I also hate YouTube Shorts. Just put them out on another website. Luckily I use uBlock Origin and ReVanced, and I blocked all Shorts from even appearing.

> It did in every other country that did it Italy has mandatory KYC for all mobile numbers, and scam/spam calls are a common problem. So no, it doesn't fix the problem at all.

Italy had forced KYC for all mobile numbers at least since the early 2000's and no, it doesn't fix the spam/scam calls problem at all.

The crazy thing is that a simple 9-digit number (that you must give away for many things) can ruin your life if it gets public. The US seems so backwards at times.

They currently don't check that at the gate. They just look if it's on a phone or not.

Yeah but that's general advice, you shouldn't also do that with PayPal, or while paying abroad. ALWAYS pay in the local currency, never in your own.

Yeah, it's just a simplified explanation of what SPF, DKIM and DMARC are. Nothing new.

I'm just sad that Intel MacBooks will be stuck with Tahoe, which is essentialy a botched beta for Golden Gate. Bad customer experience for a company like Apple.

Good job AI, after we managed to almost fix SQL injections everywhere, you made them come back!

I feel like Bun is even faster than yarn, but I'm afraid to keep using Bun since they made AI rewrite it completely in another language

I did the same, my Intel MacBook Pro will stick to macOS 15 forever. I won't update to Tahoe which is clearly a botched beta with no further updates.

It doesn't make any sense for a macOS user to migrate to Windows. Linux is the closest you can get and it's better than Windows anyway.

Also, it's not even a backup. If your files are only on OneDrive (which is the default "storage save" setting), good luck recovering them if they break into your account.

>shared out of some personal space that doesn't belong anywhere Do you care explaining this better? (moreover, to this day I still can't understand the difference between SharePoint and OneDrive -- if there's any)

The whole OneDrive ecosystem is scary as hell. I don't want to imagine how much mess they have in their backend, given that most Microsoft 365 products rely on SharePoint in one way or another. And then, sometimes you get a "peek&

That's exactly what I wrote in my comment above. You need to install Proton Mail Bridge. But it only works if you're on a paid plan.

Disabling those Primary/Promotions/etc. tabs is the first thing I do whenever I setup a new Gmail account. I just want to see my inbox, I don't trust an AI filter to sort emails for me.

I love PurelyMail, it's cheap and it works well. But it has some downsides: * it's based in the US * it's run by a single guy (bus factor = 1)

I agree. I would never host my mail on those new fancy domains which are controlled by a private company. Only use geographic TLDs run by a trustworthy government.

You can export mails, but only if you're on a paid plan. Then you can install Proton Mail Bridge (which exposes a fake IMAP server to your machine) and a mail client (e.g. Thunderbird). Then you move all your mail from Proton to your n

I like this. I'm just worried that it's going to make it way harder to create new independent small websites, if the webmasters have to check their users' age.
