Not all parents are responsible. FB, Google, and others have shown no desire to combat mass manipulation or to combat the psychological harm their services can do. It is appropriate for society to force the issue.

It used to be the case that individual banks could issue currency. It was found that having government control this much better overall. It’s not perfect.

They tried to keep it secret that they were storing the garbage instead of recycling it. The trash still needs to be disposed. Your response is to question whether this was fraud and a bad thing. That’s a weird response.

Potential for sexual slavery. Performers being coerced to do the performance along with the fact that performers are often in locations with lax law enforcement standards.

This is how people use the word now. He religiously did yoga every day. They religiously attended every game. That book became their bible. The phone is now everyone’s idol.

You are trying to fight how people use words and you won’t be successful. Phrases like “religious fervor” and “religiously <did some activity>” etc. are in common usage and refer to things outside of religion. Phones are worshipped i

this modern style of criticism is so tiring. It’s a modern style of criticism because….anyone…anyone… We should ignore historical reality. It’s makes you uncomfortable.

Your complaint would have much more merit if there wasn’t hundreds of years of examples of women being systematically discriminated against and having the system unfairly target them.

You are naive if you think apps will go down in price more than a small amount as a result of this.

If people are willing to pay $x for a product then you you don’t charge 30% less for it just because your costs have gone down. You should read up about pricing power.

I’ve taught in higher education for over 20 years. Let it go. It’s not worth the hassle to prove the student cheated.

Why would the apps cost significantly less? I think you don’t understand pricing power. You’ll get a slight discount as a means of enticing you away from the app store but you’ll give up an easy way to control subscriptions or prevent com

I’ve got 20 years of experience teaching mathematics at a community college. MyMathLab and it’s various clones are all terrible. My brief tinkering with this product has impressed me. Certainly it underdelivers at this point but they are

Can YC prevent startups from selling to Google? Even if they could why should they? There is nothing wrong with believing Google abuses its monopoly and selling to Google.

They may have changed but it used to be quite confusing how to cancel Prime. Once you cancel and try to buy something on Amazon they present a variety of dark patterns to get you to sign up again.

I think you don’t understand what DEI really is. In America the groups you talk about are not at a disadvantage when it comes to recruitment in the respective areas of the country. As such they aren’t part of DEI in corporate recruiting.

Try cancelling Prime. Then try buying something from Amazon without them trying to trick you into a Prime membership. Amazon sucks. Also its return policies over the years have gotten quite obtuse for physical goods in my experience.
