This would be solved if ICANN raised their fee to $50 per year. Suddenly, domain squatting would not be profitable and it would free millions of domain names.

I think if we all at HN were born in the '30s or '40s, we would be tinkering with cars instead of computers. Likewise, if the Magliozzi brothers were born in our generation, they would be here with us on HN.

I think only GIMP would say GIMP 2.8 is here! And yet there isn't a Windows installer for it. If I were them, I would have waited a few days and gotten the Windows installer together first.

Geez. They should incorporate (or form a non-profit) somewhere where it is closer to $500 instead of €50,000. My Delaware Registered Agent does all the paperwork for $329, and I think it can be even cheaper if you register on your own.

This is such a bad bug that I will be surprised if it doesn't get picked up by major news organizations. The fact that this bug exists is bad enough, but realizing that your phone might never get the bug fix is even worse.
