Precisely what I was thinking, wouldn't using non-newtonian type physics in such a situation just increase the impact force on the body?

This pairs extremely well with dylan's Pure Bash/sh Bible [1], both, combined with admittedly way too many hours browsing random people's dotfiles can exponentially increase your skills with shells scripting. Some tips of my

Is this made by the same people who made https://www.raycast.com/ ? The website design seems uncannily similar.

I understand that value, but such statements usually tend to completely disregard what could be immense amounts of context. Not everyone is the same, IMO specificity always helps when it comes to giving advice such as this.

Where i come from it's referred to as the "Globohomo" art style and god do I hate it with a passion. I will admit the iteration in this specific article isn't too bad but the style overall just seems tasteless and attemp

Although I respect your determination, is there any actual reason to comment this on an Ask HN? OP is looking for answers after all, not complete dismissals

You are supposed to type something into the search field then click the engine you want to use, it will pass on whatever you entered. I agree that the creator could make that a little more clear somewhere on the page.

Most shells will behave just fine if you put a quote (single or double) before anything that has a space. A small extra step but something you get used to if you spend a lot of time in the cli.

Pleasantly surprised with what I got for "misty mountain": https://i.postimg.cc/ryDWKPXT/image.png I wonder, what stops someone just using one of the images generated here as their own "art"?

Absolutely seconded. While I understand the reaction that many people here have to these sorts of things, in the end it is Apple's product and nothing forces you to buy it. People shill alternatives all the time here, why not do it i

Oops, the reference flew right above my head, nothing personal lol. >I do think I see more people appearing to make substantial comments that are based on misunderstandings from the title alone, and that’s more worrisome to me. Exactly.

I haven't been on HN for a long time (maybe a year counting my pre-account lurking stage) but I've noticed that quite a lot of comments here seem to just be knee-jerk reactions to what the submissions' title is. Not saying th

Most kids avoid facebook because it's not nearly as friendly UI-wise as tiktok/instagram or snapchat and lacks a lot of "shiny features" that those apps have. The word "facebook" also comes with a pretty boomer

A scissor can't really compare to a proper forged and heat treated knife, and for the purpose of using a seemingly everyday object for a more malicious purpose there are better things imo.

Just curious, what constitutes the "quality" of an ad for you? I've never really thought about ads that way; for me it was just whichever service can stuff their name down your throat the most often was the most successful.

I like the idea of having iOS as just a portal to a bunch of your apps, but I think saying something like this would've made much more sense 5+ years ago. Nowadays, 99% of people see their phones are far, far more. Whether that is a go

Really? I've found Apple's slow and steady approach to additions in the iOS UI to be more pleasant than not. I will admit I've only been using iPhones since iOS 10 but have mostly only noticed improvements since then (e.g. th

I doubt anyone here wants more tweets. I personally wish the twitter UI would just be entirely whitespace (or a fine chirping blue if they're feeling adventerous) for their audience to sit and enjoy; I can genuinely find no drawbacks

The M1 cameras are not a huge upgrade, they are the same as the ones macbooks have had for years now; they just now make use of the M1's image processing hardware, and even then the improvement is nothing to write home about. I love

For the iPhone itself you don't really get good competition aside from what Samsum and Xiamo offer for that price range. Though I've heard great things about the Asus Zenfone 8 as an all rounded and OnePlus as more of a "budg

Would help if you could be more specific here but aside from hardware (macbook/iPhone) there's alternatives (not just competitive but also plain better ones) to just about every service Apple provides.
