Big tech has been disintegrating the foundational principles on which our society is built in the name of our society. Every one of their moves is a deeper attack on personal freedom than the last. They need to be dealt with. Stop using the

Sorry, I meant that as in if this were the NYT I don’t think somebody would have asked for another source even though it would still be justified to do so.

Any major newspaper is partisan nowadays. Weird that people will only ask for alternative sources in certain newspapers.

Cookie banners are utterly ineffective. The websites create the problem in the first place, that's obvious, but lawmakers are apparently too incompetent to come up with effective solutions.

I can recommend a small split ortholinear keyboard. I built one as a weekend project and it was pretty fun, doable with basic microcontroller and solder skills (except for the ~50 SMD LEDs which I couldn’t be bothered to do). Pretty happy w

Have you ever taken the plunge though and really tried to go through with learning touch typing? You may not find it impossible after all. Then again typing isn’t really a huge bottleneck when it comes to coding.

Thanks for linking. For a "light hearted joke", that is a lot of effort, extremely unprofessional and very poorly worded. I still don't blame people for taking issue with it. The harrassment though is another story, that su

Does this kind of trick question work well in practice? If they explicitly ask for syntax errors it would be a waste of time to also check the code for other errors. I can’t imagine many people opting to do that unless they know it’s a tric

It’s not wrong per se. But things that provide instant gratification tend to be destructive, and deep satisfaction seldom comes from things that are easily obtained.

I agree, I should've made clearer I was being sarcastic. The quasi-monopoly thing is often ignored when it comes to Big Tech silencing voices.
