IMHO, the starting point was the requirement of 3D accelerated video cards. The last 3D games I have played (alone in the dark 1, doom) did not require any 3D card. But now, you can't display a line of text without a huge pile of crapp

I did not know about immutable, but I have noticed that c9.io uses another way to avoid modification of a file present in a directory that I own. It makes it a read only mount point: /dev/mapper/volg1-lvdata on /home&#x2

IMHO, the fact that Germany is surrounded by countries where prostitution is illegal is one of the causes of human trafficking victims. If legalization is generalized, this may reduce.

The problem of old languages like perl and Ada is not lack of libraries, but lack of good developers that know how to write idiomatic code. Performing caching at the application level is so trivial in Perl that I do not see how a caching at

My mother taught it me when I was 12. Normally it is presented like a division. At 17, I have coded it in turbo pascal with arrays of digits. If I remember well, I had found a way to apply the same method for cubic roots.

IMHO r-cmds should be considered more armful in OS than goto in code. In cases of last resort needs, I would prefer netcat. There is a bunch of last resort tools that should be part of default installation. For example ping, xeyes, ...

If you want network performances in script, you can use netcat. r-cmds have reliability issues that are very annoying to diagnose.
