Allegedly. There’s no evidence to back this claim other than the guards were on break when he died. If I were to plan my demise in jail, I’d wait for the guards to go on break as well. Less chance of them finding you before you’re gone.

100% agree that all the fluff is for the machines and not humans. The web has been broken this way since 2014. The feedback loop is real.

And the services needed to consume said money printer. GCP wouldn’t exist. To be fair, a lot of it runs on AWS so AWS’ business would take a serious hit as well.

You are using it right however your bias is evident on the results. A 20-something will just scroll through the blog content to get to the recipe at the end. No huss, no fuss. In fact, they’ll open multiple tabs of search results to compare

Trying to get customers to pay for something they have been readily getting for free is a difficult proposition. Ask Vice News. This is the problem. YouTube was “free” for a long time and now it needs to turn a profit. Ads was the easy way

“even those that use C# do it this way” The only thing we do is P/Invoke native draw calls. OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, they expose C functions that we call with pinned memory. That’s about where it stops. Everything else is in C#. Events

Exactly my point. It’s technically feasible to do many things. Apple will do what Apple does. Try to upsell you into the higher tier hardware.

This only applies when discussing difficult topics. Performance Review? Probably on camera. Meeting about upcoming sprint work, probably not. The severity of the meeting agenda dictates I think. I also agree that turning off self-view helps

I do this too but have been called out for “not being on camera” by a man that deserves no authority. Some people like to see themselves talk. Some like to hear themselves talk. I’d rather code than talk. When I run meetings, my camera is o

Apple does not compete on checkboxes. If they deemed is necessary to remove, there’s a reason. Not saying I agree, just that’s how they operate. If there isn’t a need to support 3 displays then they won’t, regardless if the “competition” di

Ugh, you just explained my 20 year career. It’s not that we don’t see authority, we do. It’s that we don’t see the trust yet that the authority sees us. Too many times we were told we’re failing to meet expectations or we aren’t good enough

I can’t stress enough the importance of house plants. Man this is depressing. I know the left-hand scale should be factored but this isn’t stock, it shouldn’t but “up and to the right”.

I call BS on this. Apple’s strategy is not battery tech. It’s personal computing devices. Always has been. Always will. Wearables, services, AI-capable hardware, is where Apple wins. Wearables beyond the watch and the vision pro. Meta and R
