Part of what they offer is the appearance at your destination of having been delivered by a private driver. Uber X and Uber Taxi are just Priuses and regular taxis.

Apple makes videos of the sessions available through iTunes to registered developers after the conference. The main reasons to go to the conference are to network and be a part of the spectacle.

I used to spend about 2 hours per day on food. Typically I would cook eggs for breakfast, eat out for lunch, and cook a quesadilla, pasta, or a burger for dinner It seems strange that it would take him 2 hours to cook a combination of egg

You mainly just need to be a good C++ programmer to get a job. To get a job where you aren't just a C++ programming resource you need the advanced degree, advanced math, previous experience, etc.

Back end services like these are a lot of work for limited financial reward, which is why they almost all eventually sell, if they can.

It's still an afternoon's worth of headache. Parse is just the time it takes to set up the certs, profile and configure your app. Plus, doing it DIY means you have to maintain a system for sending the notifications, whereas Parse provides t

I guess I didn't realize this was about muscles. I was just replying to the guy asking if agriculture was done by hand. Maybe shouldn't follow threads via the /comments page. I end up not knowing what the context is.

Parse is even more attractive to the experienced developer. After 15 years of backend bullshit, I was pretty stoked to find something which could make almost all of that pain and suffering finally go away.

Plowing is not done by hand but picking is. Sugar beet field weeding used to be done by teams of migrant workers with handheld hoes. I think they've figured out how to not have the weeds in the first place with better pesticides. Most fruit

Are push notifications and identity so painful to deal with that there's a business in creating a full platform to deal with it? Yes. (at least on iOS, not sure about Android or Win) Parse has an iOS data object that syncs properly, where

how many people go to WWDC as a hobby? how many are really price insensitive? A lot of indie developers go to WWDC. I would go so far as to say they are the mainstay audience for the conference. Raising the prices significantly would mean

The demand for skilled programmers is unevenly distributed. There's huge demand in the Bay Area and then a much smaller smattering of demand elsewhere. If you are a skilled dev who doesn't live in the Bay Area, it can very much feel like yo
