I don’t believe attorney client privilege applies if the lawyer is actively helping break the law.

What if you were to encode a message to your lawyer via your payments. Would that make it privileged? To me, a private transaction between parties subject to confidential privilege should also be subject to privilege.

How does that not violate attorney client privilege?

It doesn’t look like the dealer was complicit. Rather, the “cheaters” convinced the casino to use their preferred orientations of the cards under the guise of superstition.

Germany has some floods, but nothing like a hurricane or tornado. I only spent 2 years in Germany, but even a typical summer thunderstorm in the NE US seemed worse than in Germany.

In Portland, you only get specific types of avocados that can be harvested while still hard and survive the journey. This applies to all types of produce: being transportable is more important than tastiness.

I have the same experience. I think the transformer-based models are impressive, but whenever I try to actually use them for something, e.g. having ChatGPT write something or using GitHub Copilot, the results I get are terrible. I was legit

Does it really matter if the delivery driver is going to be on your street anyway? Or put another way, imagine you live on a street with 10 households. On average, one household might drive to store each day to pick up 10 items. Isn't

Modern civil engineering is extremely inefficient. In a software system, for instance, you design largely by “instinct.” You’re given a problem, you consider a the pros and cons of a few possible solutions, and then commit to one based on t

Having N people drive to your neighborhood could be more efficient than M people driving to the store individually if M >> N. So now when you want something you drive to the store? How is that better?

I just sold all my NVDA today. My hypothesis came true: NVDA was going to power the AI revolution and see substantial upside. The reason I sold is because the price is just too high. In order to get to a sane P/E ratio, their profits n

It's illegal to drive in neutral. And of course you can engine break in automatic cars, but you're not likely to.

Engine breaking, which any manually car driver uses, does not produce any indication that you're slowing down. Technically, the engine noise is louder, but not enough to notice outside of the car.

It might be… I would say 95% of code doesn’t need comments. But then you encounter that one complicated function and you go wtf? So I think I would prefer something more targeted. Like a vs code extension that lets you summarize any code sn

That's kind of my biggest issue with Co-pilot at the moment... it can turn comments into code, but the amount of effort required to produce the comments is greater than the effort required to write the code.

A lot of these "trends" can easily be explained by the fact that millennials, aka the largest generation in the U.S., are aging. When they were young, many were willing to move. Now that they're older, many are no longer will
