That’s interesting, but consider two functions like func ParseInt(string) (int, error) and func Abs(int) int. You lose some composability when using errors over exceptions. The Rust solution mentioned elsewhere seems elegant.

Did your company work out? I understand and agree that a million engineers could build a product. But, many good engineers could also go work at Google et al. As a nascent company without a product, you have very little leverage. As an engi

The basic premise of your argument is flawed. You’re asserting that we can only know about climate change after it happens. That’s not true. We can predict climate change will happen before it actually happens by understanding the relations

This was a few months ago. I don't think it was totally niche. It was about $1 per click through and I run the campaign for 2 months, which was an accident. I meant to pause a lot sooner.

I haven't fully validated this idea yet, but I ran a Google ad campaign for $5 a day for a mailing list signup page that I was planning a business around. Click through rates were around 2.5%, which seems to be the baseline, i.e. a 2.5

That's not a kind reading of the complaint. Someone added a "feature" (baked light maps) with one day's worth of work. However, the feature was incomplete and broken and it took a whole year to "fix." That defi

Do you realize it’s possible to know something before it happens? For instance, I can know that dropping a hammer on my foot will hurt without actually doing it. Similarly, you can know that increasing rates of energy consumption can lead t

There are just too many required parameters to create a single handler. And then you need to do that N times for each handler. Take a look at a complete Terraform example for a lambda: https://github.com/terraform-aws-module

I find serverless to be needlessly complex. I'd rather write an HTTP server and serve it off of t3.micro instance (also free-tier eligible). So much simpler for side projects.
