I read your comment as supporting the idea that women forgo STEM roles due to gender-specific negative pressure (certainly true in some cases), while I'm suggesting (also) that some may be choosing different career paths to achieve mor

None of your example figures are in the top decile (U.S.), so it wouldn't be worth it for me to evaluate the other aspects of compensation. In this case, getting out front with a $60K-$90K range would save us both some time. Of course

You should at least consider the possibility that intelligent, charismatic women may not be as willing to pursue 'STEM roles' as equivalently advantaged men. If someone is able to teach occasional yoga classes, do little PR work,

This sounds a good control systems approach that provides drivers with an indirect way to influence pricing. If Uber decides to 'out' cheaters somehow, then I'd worry about coercion by other drivers.

The left is just as bizarre. Here in Boulder people seem to be graduating from yoga to astrology to drinking 'structured water' from bottles charged with 'orgone energy' at a surprising rate. It seems like overkill to us

Maybe change the url to: https://arxiv.org/abs/1707.01204 (this could be automatic for arxiv)

It's also an example of failed city planning! The original Cerdà Plan was considerably more human friendly: https://www.failedarchitecture.com/behind-four-walls-barcelo...

There's been a lot of visible experimentation, but I've not seen anything indicative of a definitive strategy. I would be curious to know if there were any lessons learned from replicating old world European towns.

Try sending an SMS via Hangouts (desktop), or searching past messages. The background pictures are nice and all, but that's not great UX.

The people you mention really dislike Walmart. Still a smart move as it lets Walmart snag some mid-america market share from Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy (the last makes most of the money anyway).

Comcast is currently working on LoRa networks and lobbying for control. The economics of a low power wide area network don't really favor a monopoly, but they might get one if nobody is paying attention.
