Thanks! I’ve used ODROID devices in the past, but wasn’t aware of that variant.

Well, I am curious about compact SATA options, and have a peer response to yours that is eminently useful, so… I’d say it’s still on topic.

I don't know how you got that idea when I explicitly say it was a hardware issue.

Cockpit hasn't really improved in a while, though, and although I greatly appreciate 45Drives' committment to it, last time I tried to install their stuff I had a lot of issues with deprecated dependencies... So I just went "

This is fun for learning purposes, but even with the PCIe 3 bus the Pi just isn't that great a server when compared to an Intel N-series machine. I have two "normal" NAS devices, but I would like to find a compact N100 board

I have to wonder why Guile hasn’t become more popular over the years, frameworks or not. It ships with so many distributions that the ease of access is there, but I’ve yet to come across any significant code base using it for web apps.

I love that this exists. I bought BYTE for many years and this is bringing back fond memories. The best printed ads I’ve ever seen, though, were on WIRED. Doing the same for that might be impossible until copyright expires, but I would love

Many of the N-series machines support USB-C power delivery and can run off minuscule wall warts.

Yes, it exists. Ryzen mini-PCs with an M780 can run many 5-year old AAA titles (with caveats) and most indie games at 60fps. We use a 7840HS one as a Steam box, and stream the games to our iPads or the living room Apple TV (because, well, n

Yeah, I broadly agree — even if I am primarily a Mac user, I am constantly annoyed by the odd tool that does that. SimonW’s “llm” tool is one of the offenders.

That’s not the whole picture. I have a “mini Mac” I built that runs BasiliskII directly on a Raspberry Pi 3’s framebuffer (using SDL on a directly attached LCD) and the thing is _much_ faster and snappier than the SE/30 it sort of look
