In the last couple years I've been more and more interested in this world of "big enterprise software that seems to be a complex mess but has seemingly unstoppable momentum and makes billions". That whole world seems to be hi

That is _exactly_ my life. Wake up early, kids, run out of the house, busy office day, get home and it's all kids until everyone is settled in bed and asleep by around 9:00pm (sometimes later). Then I clean up the disaster that was mad

I didn't say nobody ever runs into dead bears. It's just not that common, even amongst folks who spend a lot of time in the bush.

There are older indigenous people on Vancouver Island who basically say that growing up there was definitely a bigfoot of sorts. Their parents would see them even more often. They don't seem to doubt it at all. I do recall a CBC video

The one argument I've heard to that is: how many dead bears or cougars are often stumbled upon? Turns out not a lot. Animals tend to find hidden placed to die and then nature can dispose and disperse of them pretty quickly. You will fi

Well imagine nobody had kids and then we managed to turn climate change around. Now we've got a bunch of old folks being cared for by clean energy powered robots, living a utopian dream but thinking, "wait a minute... Did we just

This looks awesome! I've been looking through the docs. I can't wait to get back to my computer to give it a whirl.

I've heard this before from people but I can help but think, "companies are paying GitHub to store code which in itself is often very valuable IP that needs to be protected". Are we sure GitHub doesn't have any promises

I've had it make me around 3 if those already for my 2.5 year old. It's the same video but they just keep adding a few more months into it. I always save them. It's amazing, creepy and well done. I had a Premiere project wher

Yeah, I was thinking that too but I look at Hacker News daily and at least once a week a coworker bugs me about using Fish. So it's not like the idea or thought is new to me. In particular this one was weird because I was not only thin

So weird. Last night I ran a bunch of updates and spent some time cleaning up and configuring my laptop. Preparing for the New Year. I tried to upgrade Fish and saw that it hadn't had an update since this time last year. I ended up loo

You're living in your own petty creation, man! Just kidding. Aside from some of the funny wording this is a nice, simple philosophy and I'm going to think about it today.

I've always assumed this will get better with time naturally. There is actually quite a decent expectation on business tools. If GitHub, Jira or our Wifi goes down our whole company knows about it right away and is often crippled by it

It means all of that. We find something we've never seen before. There's something about it that seems "alive". It's an instinctual feeling. We have to decide how "alive" that is. Is it alive like a human,

I would love to see Crystal take off but it seems like some decent funding/backing and then some time to settle from there will be needed. I seriously hope that can happen; but, who knows.
