The point of the gory death warnings is to stop new smokers from starting, to making smoking as unattractive as possible. Smokers become desensitised to the warnings really quickly from looking at them every time they smoke.

I thought the opposite from outside the US - I thought the US lambasted (rightfully) BP which caused BP to almost go out of business - they had asset sales at the time to pay for the costs. There were pension liquidity fears at the time due

I don't see any problem with a government who is freely elected enacting laws that disallow hate speech. To assist with balancing these rights and restrictions there is an independent judiciary and court system that moderates these law

I think it's one of the big myths of working in a private company that somehow it's super-efficient, that there are major opportunities for success by default. I've worked at plenty of companies which had huge inefficiencies
