Quick Google search says they net about $5/mo per free user on ads alone. I’d honest rather go back to buying the albums.

A concise explanation: functionalism is secondary to the attention economy for modern media platforms. Hard to advertise in a functional list grid, but yeah like fuck, I’m right there with you. It’s to the point where I’d rather just steal

I hope this article is satire. Knowing that abstraction is going to add value vs. speculating that it will? That should be the difference between adding the extra investment upfront vs. inciting YAGNI (you aint gonna need it). The footprint

One final “bad”: the update operation (known as replace) is also slightly lacking in my opinion. I’d like to be able to update an object with a partial fragment, eg: The op { “op”: “replace”, “path”: “/foo”, value { “a”: 3 } } Applied

Have seen JSON patch successfully reduce complexity in two separate projects now. My thoughts: The Good: 1. Depending on your ORM or data access model, JSON patch is a fantastic option. If you’ve got existing services that can hand you deep

I’ll be honest, I just flipped through the video without sound. It’s clear that I misunderstood the content of the talk.

Idk man maybe it’s my own psychological mess of associations but like “fireside chat” just makes me envision a parent with children on their knee. So to me it just seems suuuper condescending.

That’s kind of incredible that yarn pnp out performs pnpm. If that’s generally true across most projects then I’m really glad that turborepo decided to use it for project subslicing.

This game was a favorite for me and my friends. It always blew my mind taking my low level game and cable-linking to my friends who had a Queen or wizards in their arsenal.

Bitcoin and Ethereum? Sounds like they bought high and panicked at a 50% drop. Plenty of documentation that this approach is guaranteed to fail, and always corrects in a few years. Appreciate the downvotes.

What makes this post ”interesting” is the fact that OP chose stonks over BTC/ETH. If it were good crypto, $150k isn’t gone, it’s just on vacation.

Yeah I considered doing something like this but ultimately balked (maybe it was my inner prima dona) at the idea of needing to support undeployed adapter code (outside of Docker containers or build scripts), even if rarely. Might be easier

Does anything make a person cringe harder than the term “CEO fireside chats” like they’re bleeping Churchill or FDR talking to bunkered beleaguered citizens. So pompous. Instead of having “fireside chats” maybe you could move out of the way

If you get ambitious and download the source code, the integration tests make it exceeding evident as to why this is there case. Or rather more the lack of integration tests. But it’s hardly a knock against the localstack guys. AWS is a hug

Probably the weirdest math I’ve ever encountered is the Frobenius method and more generally power series methods of solving differential equations. I remembered encountering Taylor and Maclaurin series in Calc I, and thinking “oh, that’s a
