BYD is successful because they are cheap. For most people cars are simple utilities. But countries either need to be protectionist or you need to lower production costs to a Chinese level. That means workers only earn the same as a Chinese

I think a local AI model is appreciated, but it being bundled and executed through Chrome, I expect that more or less all data get exfiltrated by Google. They simply read your mails, how would you expect there to be anything resembling dece

"That must end immediately, as must harm to Iranians and human lives anywhere." The most harm to Iranians comes from the Iranian government. Regime critics are simply executed. If you ask Iranians most will probably agree. Not a f

I do rowing and sailing as a sport as well as wind surfing. I want to be able to simply replace the battery of my devices as well as connect them with a cable. There are of course trade-offs here, but also very viable benefits. And no, I ne

So testosterone makes people honest and if you lack it you become a weak yes-man? And it also leads to less virtue-signaling (strategic prosocial behavior - I hope it also diminishes the want for euphemisms) and conformity? In my opinion, p

Of course, it isn't the quantity. It is more about the features you wouldn't implement because manual dev takes a long time and why not let the AI spin up a non-critical site for administration or testing just for you. The cost&#x

I don't think there is evidence of that. You would need long term changes to schedules so that people accommodate for the free time. That isn't the case if you have three weeks off. Otherwise people would indeed do the exact same

Software in Germany is simply not highly regarded, on the contrary. It is seen as necessary evil at best. Ageing population that finds itself overwhelmed is my guess. There are exceptions, but they are far and few between.

Usually the baddies don't get attacked first. Perhaps breathing out yelling for some intifada crap and justifying terrorism is a symptom.

Every serious academic knows it is complete crap, the problem is finding a better metric. Although the crappyness competes with "no metric at all" and I think the latter would be superior. The only advantage the current system has

React is really a bad example because you really don't need it. I am no web dev, but I think React is an abomination. The reason I can confidently say it without knowing every detail there is to it is simply that there aren't impr

Problem is that only notebooks/tablets and few pcs have bluetooth, which is used for the handshake for AirDrop. If we had good mobile OS I bet we would have a solution for both... Personally I just use wifi/smb for file transfer a

I think the initial handshake for Airdrop is through bluetooth and then both devices peer through wifi. Not sure why there isn't a solution for Android, perhaps there are hardware limitations, I don't know the bluetooth stack. If

I noticed people like to change the definition of genocide. Because the common understanding just blatantly doesn't fit the situation in any real sense.
