This is great news. I'm a happy T-Mobile customer and I've had bad experiences with AT&T and its predecessor, BellSouth, in the past. I don't want to be forced into AT&T. Question: What can we do to support the government's effort

I read the previous comment as a reference to Swift: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Modest_Proposal and, as such, not intended to be offensive.

One of the few defenses society has against this kind of abuse is the Streisand effect - their attempts to suppress this kind of speech only make it have more effect. Because of that I'm all for giving this kind of story more exposure.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned Higher Order Perl. It's not just an excellent Perl book - it's an excellent programming book. Even if you don't plan on coding in Perl, HOP may change how you write in Python, etc. Also, the pd

Scripting Layer For Android (SL4A): http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/ Though for stuff you're going to distribute it's much better to go native, bite the bullet, and do it in Java.

You still can't use A regular expression to parse HTML. Of course you can use a set of regular expressions and some other logic to parse HTML. There's shouldn't be anything surprising about this post.

I didn't mean to mock you and I really did like your comment about how do we profit from this. That really is the important question for HNers. That and "how do we fix it."

Certainly corporate IT guys sometimes take the flak when stuff breaks, but the really good* corporate IT guys manage to turn major breakage into a justification for a bigger budget. "...blame the big software and infrastructure providers,

The corporate mindset is the problem. They've got to get away from the hubris of thinking their software testing process is so special or better than the community's. Although it's a pretty cushy assignment. I'm sure plenty of bigcorp PMs

I had to look this up because I was thinking otherwise, but now I believe you are correct - it is just inconsistent between runs: http://perldoc.perl.org/functions/each.html says "Hash entries are returned in an apparently random order. T

It concerns me a lot when someone asks me to sign something with a lot of boilerplate or "it's just CYA.". Even if it's for a friend, you never know when the company's going to be sold or your friend isn't in charge any more and all of the
