Given the state of search functionality built into websites I use often I can only imagine you have a very heavily curated list. In my experience so many sites have searches that return bad results, restrict your ability to see a list of re

Very similar list to me, the only ones I've found that meet this, can be relatively powerful (H CPUs and 64GB ram) and don't force you to buy a Windows license are TongFangs. Any others?

Most of that calendar is pointless time wasting guff that benefits nobody. Stand ups should last no more than 10 minutes and a middle manager has no place at them any more than occasionally. Status updates should be slack messages or emails

Wild assed guess then multiply by two to four depending on how little you trust the people you're giving the estimate too. Estimates for anything other than the next couple of tasks planned in detail are entirely useless 100% of the ti

Retailers are generally providing a service. Somewhere to go and look at and try out a product, many products conveniently under one roof. Scalpers / touts are not, they are parasites.

This is a good response. Your CEO should read it and learn from it - as far as I recall his handling of the response to the incident last year was nothing short of abysmal.

Yes, it's a sorry state of affairs. I'd escaped that sort of thing until recently when we started working with a client who behaves as though everybody lives in their inbox and sees emails seconds after they're sent. Explai

> multitasking, skipped breaks and long hours From personal experience I think these are two very different things. Context switching seems to me to have a cost directly proportional to the complexity of the task. If it takes me 10 minu

You need a phd in sbt to do things like "copy the jars", or "have a second set of dependencies". The proponents of the approach that sbt takes have failed to realise that build tools have zero value whatsoever, every sec

A few years back I left a negative review for one retailer of oak furniture on TrustPilot. It was deleted for profanity within 60 seconds. There was no profanity in it. I repeated this four or five times before eventually it stuck. I no

Upload a CSV or talk to support for a db integration. "talk to us" everywhere instead of price info and documentation. Feels very early, and not going to be useful to me until I can add a few different data sources myself.

Strong Customer Authentication should be sufficient to prove that the payment request is authorised by the card holder, given this I'm not sure why a business would pay to be sure there's a human there?

The answer to card fraud is called Strong Customer Authentication and it's a requirement under PSD2. It requires payment service providers to obtain a second factor for authentication. This might be an online banking login and approv

Legitimate interest is a GDPR thing and you can indeed choose to share personal information under legitimate interest and you can do so for analytics. There are countless examples of privacy policies all over the web doing exactly that. T

You don't need consent to share personally identifiable data like IP addresses with Google. For GDPR purposes you need a legal basis and "your legitimate interest" is one. You need to honestly assess - ideally write down -

My experience is that the best approach to solving a problem is that you need to do a little of everything, with the emphasis on little. But first you have to understand the problem.
