I thought brackets ( eg '[' or ']' ) are Clojure syntactic sugar. I don't recall much use of them in Common Lisp (or Scheme), though I'm happy to be shown the error of my ways.

In what way is this clojure inspired? (Just curious.. Does it need the JVM, or is it a brackety/syntax thing?)

I did too, but I saw this video (which is part of the very entertaining Sixty Symbols series, btw) which had a demonstration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Uqf71muwWc EDIT: i_cannot_hack got the link in before me. Kudos

You don't even need to buy an amplifier. You can stick the key against your head and the water in your brain will amplify the signal. Bonus points for taking a plastic container of water for even further extension of the range!

Thanks for posting that, it's interesting and instructive to see examples of f# code 'out in the wild'. Much appreciated!

An aside (and trying not to be snide with it) but you can certainly be indoctrinated into Insanity (or perhaps Brainwashed might be a better term). Just look at Religion and/or Cults. To be sure, not the same cause, but debatably a var

Out here in Switzerland it's almost the opposite out in public.. one can walk about (ok, not so much in busy areas of main cities) and greet and be greeted by random strangers. I'd agree it's a cultural thing.

Bit of a late reply.. I've actually been following through the Washington University course from them directly (not via coursera). I guess it's similar if not identical as this also does SML, Racket & Ruby. Well worth the effo

I don't suppose you have done any work with unity and f# have you? I'd be interested to hear any war-stories in that context.

Use the html version, not the pdf that is available - the pdf has (or at least did recently) errors which will throw the unwary (of course, if you enjoy learning and working out the errors, go for it...). Otherwise this is an extremely us

I too have been trying with Haskell in the past. I don't know, maybe I'm just dumb as a box of rocks.. I found working through learning Standard ML (which consequently has lead me on poking about with F#, but that's another t

We've got 2 M1000e's, but they're slowly being retired and TBH they're in a 'do-less not do-more' situation (mostly!), so I haven't honestly had much experience past run-of-the-mill blade config, so that p
