There are alternatives to that. For all of the hype and vaporware of the cryptocurrency movement, the idea of digital-native programmable internet money is a powerful one. I’m personally excited by the idea of involving currency at the prot

Have a look at OCaml, and also at its new spinoff, ReasonML. I think it may be what you’re looking for - compile-to-native systems language, great type system with 20 years of development behind it, and functional without being dogmatic and

It’s a bit of a leap to assume that TOR is vulnerable here, considering it disables JavaScript which is necessary for this exploit to work. Let’s not get carried away here please, there’s no need to stoke fears about TOR in this instance.

I'm having a hard time believing that the AI isn't human assisted in some way. I'd expect some incoherent output but there really isn't much. Very fun to watch though.

I mostly agree with you but this is a fairly uncharitable read of small town Americans. You say yourself that socialism won’t fix the plight of their towns dying out, so they’re not wrong to be against socialism in this case. Furthermore, m

Apologies if I’m misunderstanding, but are you implying that amazon doesn’t commingle products? Allegedly this is the reason that you can order a “sold by amazon” product but still receive a counterfeit item (likely provides by a 3rd party

Yep, exactly, and furthermore this is a deliberate strategy on the part of China, and a naive strategy on the part of the US. Here’s a good article on this very topic that you might enjoy: https://mattstoller.substack.com/p&

I can’t say that has been my personal experience, and I feel like I use AUR pretty extensively, but I can see how that would be very frustrating if that’s been your experience with it. I am often surprised at what’s available on AUR — my mo

I’d give Manjaro a try. It’s an arch based distro where they take care of setting up a desktop environment for you, while including a nice install experience. After that, you’re basically in arch land, which is an excellent no-frills stripp

This is, in my opinion, a really baseless claim. There’s plenty of critical discussion on HN that runs against YC interests. There’s also plenty of intelligent political discussion on here. The modded stuff is modded because it is content-f

This comment brings zero new points to the discussion, and just reiterates the point that parent was responding to. It’s not very constructive or substantial in my opinion, so I downvoted it.
